When designing the Trinidad Chair in 1993, Nanna Ditzel found inspiration in the elaborate fretwork from the Gingerbread Facades that she had seen in colonial architecture while travelling through Trinidad. Much like the facades, the cut-out fretwork of the chair triggers an interplay of light and shadows, creating a pattern projected into space and a subtle sense of motion.

Hans J. Wegner showed an early interest in the rocking chair as a design object, and J16 was one of his first chairs ever put into production. The very first version was designed in 1944. After a process to make the chair easier to manufacture, the production could start. Wegner’s J16 has proved so viable that it has been in demand ever since it first came on the market.

The Ox Ottoman, designed by Hans J Wegner, is made to match the Ox Chair as well as the Queen Chair. The fully upholstered body is elevated by stainless-steel legs.
