Poul Henningsen designed the three-screen light system in 1925-1926. Along with Louis Poulsen, PH designed the first lamps to use this system for an exhibition in Paris. Collaboration between the two continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his lifetime, he sought to create direct and unblemished lighting in the places where it was most needed. In addition, he used incandescent light bulbs as a light source to create soft shadows. The PH 3/2 Aplique is part of the three-screen family, which currently has 30 lights, including three for outdoor use. Therefore, PHli did not design a whole lighting system; over the course of three years, a number of different models have been created.
