Poul Henningsen designed the three-screen lighting system in 1925-1926. Along with Louis Poulsen, PH designed the first lamps to use this system for an exhibition in Paris. Collaboration between the two continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his lifetime, he sought to create direct lighting without glare in the places where it was most needed. In addition, he used incandescent lamps as a light source to create soft shadows. PH applies 2/1 lamps as part of the three-screen family, which currently has thirty lighting models, included for outdoor use. Therefore, he did not design a single lighting system but three models; over the course of his life, he has sought to create a three-dimensional lighting system.
