Poul Henningsen designed the three-screen system in 1925-1926. Along with Louis Poulsen, PH designed the first lamps to use this system for an exhibition in Paris. He continued to work with Louis Poulsen until his death, which occurred in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create direct and non-glare lighting in the places where it was most needed. In addition, he used incandescent bulbs as a light source to create soft shadows. The PH 4/3 Metal Suspended was born in 1966. Its design follows the general three-screen system, based on the Lithuanian curve, with the light source located in the center of the Avalanche.
