Poul Henningsen designed his first lights in 1925-1926 for an exhibition in Paris. He continued to work with Louis Poulsen until his death, which occurred in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create direct and non-glare lighting in places where it was most needed. In addition, he used incandescent bulbs as a light source to create soft shadows. In 1958, Poul Henningsen designed Snowball, which was exhibited alongside the PH 5 at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art. However, at that time Snowball went fairly unnoticed and it was from 1983 when it was re-launched and produced.
