The Enigma 425 series was designed by Japanese optical designer Shoichi Uchiyama for Louis Poulsen and includes the Enigma 425, 545, and 825 models. Enigma 425 was launched in 2003 and was the first step in a reinterpretation of the traditional spider concept. This lamp consists of thin layers of concentric circles and floating displays supported by ultra-thin cables, giving it a transparent and lightweight appearance. The Enigma name means "mystery" and refers to floating displays that appear to float when viewed from a distance.
