Poul Henningsen designed the three-screen lighting system in 1925-1926. Along with Louis Poulsen, PH Fitting designed the first light bulbs to use this system for an exhibition in Paris. Collaboration between the two continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, he sought to create direct lighting without glare in the places where it was most needed. In addition, he used incandescent bulbs as a light source to create soft shadows. PH 2/1 Stem Fitting is part of the three-screen family, which already has 30 lights, currently included for outdoor use. Therefore, he did not design just one lighting system but three different models. Throughout his life, he sought to create a three-dimensional lighting system.
