The Panthella lamp design is one of Verner Panton's most significant designs, reflecting the personality larger than the life of the Danish architect. His goal was to create an organically shaped lamp that would provide 100 percent anti-glowing light, with the support and screen serving as light reflectors.

Panton achieved this by manufacturing the Panthella lamp with Louis Poulsen in 1971. The characteristic shape of the lamp and its ability to reflect soft light from its trumpet-shaped base have consolidated its status as a design icon.
