PH Septima is considered one of Poul Henningsen's most refined suspension lamps. When first exhibited in 1928 as a prototype at the Danish Museum of Decorative Art (now the Design Museum of Denmark), this poetic luminaire was a critical success.

Poul Henningsen designed his first lights in 1925-1926 for an exhibition in Paris. He continued working with Louis Poulsen until his death in 1967.
