The AJ Oxford desk lamp has an elegant graphic expression that embodies the architecture of St Catherine's College, Oxford, for which it was originally designed. St Catherine's College, inaugurated in 1963, was designed by Arne Jacobsen in a modernist architectural style that contrasts with the classical architecture of the University of Oxford. The AJ Oxford desk lamp was originally designed as a lighted desk lamp for the impressive dining room of the faculty, with rows of oak tables and capacity for 350 people. This distinctive centre-of-table lamp provides light entering through the windows of the Oxford claristory and the AJ ZZZED three-coloured headlamp provides a smooth overall illumination.
